Local Scholarships

Wendy's High School Heisman- not truly a scholarship, but a chance for student athletes to be recognized. Must have a B average and participate in at least one varsity sport.  A male and female winner will be named for our school and those winners will go on to compete at the state and possibly national level Local winners also recieve a certificate and a patch. Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship- 500 Four-year awards ranging from $60,000 to $4,000. Any high school senior who is a US citizen may apply. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership and financial need. Deadline is December 1, 2010. For complete details visit www.elks.org/enf/scholars
Hagan Scholarship Foundation- The Hagan Scholarships are intended for high achieving students in need of financial assistance in order to attend college. These recipients will graduate from a public high school located in a Missouri County having fewer than 50,000 residents. Criteria for consideration include a GPA of 3.25 or higher and a Composite score of 23 or higher on the ACT. The amount varies from $2,000 to $8,000 annually and are renewable for 4 years. It is anticipated that a high percentage of qualified applicants will recieve a scholarship. The application is due in its entirety by 11/15/2010. More information is available at www.hsfmo.org
Kansas City Associated Equipment Distributors - 4 $1,000 scholarships for students attending a vocational/technical school and pursuing a degree in Diesel Mechanics or Heavy Equipment Repair. Deadline 3/1/11 AXA Achievement Community Scholarship - Download an application for a $2,000 scholarship at www.axa-achievement.com . Apply by 2/15/11 USBank Internet Scholarship Program - 40 $1,000 scholarships awarded to recipients selected through a random drawing process. Apply online at usbank.com/scholarship . Robert C Byrd Honors Scholarship- $1,500 yearly (renewable). Applicant must score above the 90th percentil on the ACT test. Application deadline 4/15/11 Burger King Scholars Program $1,000, $5,000 and $25,000 scholarships available. Do NOT have to be a Burger King Employee to be eligible. C&R 1st Annual Rewards Scholarship Program Each C&R location will be awarding three different scholarships ($100, $250, and $500). Open to any graduating senior with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Students must enroll in the program, then obtain sponsors who will designate their rewards points to the student's "scholarship account". See Mr. Carter for enrollment materials. Materials MUST be returned to C&R Central Office by 12/20/10 James L and Nellie M Westlake Scholarship Awards scholarships which cover the cost of tuition, books, and supplies to students whose families have an adjusted gross income of $50,000 or less Deadline: 2/1/11 For additional information and a link to the application: sms.scholarshipamerica.org/ westlake Jack Holley/MUSIC Scholarship.  Six $2,000.00 scholarships (nonrenewable) will be awarded to students who graduate in 2011 from high schools in MUSIC member districts. Missouri Association of Mutual Insurance Companies- 8 $1,000 scholarships. Due 3/1/11 Mizzou Delta Sigma Phi Men of Distinction Scholarship- 2 $500 scholarships for male students planning to attend the University of Missouri. Due 3/15/11 Septagon Construction plans to award at least one $500 scholarship to a student planning to major in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management or Construction Technology. $2,000 MFA scholarship applications are available. Deadline for submission is 3/15/11 Northeast Missouri Special Education Coop is offering $500 scholarships for students interested in becoming an Occupational Therapy of Physical Thereapy Assistant. Applications are available from Mr. Carter and need to be turned in March 15 Macon Elks- $200 scholarships based on need. Applications available from Mr Carter and due back 4/7/11 I also recieved notice from a website that appears to be legitimate that you might want to check out. It is studentscholarships.org Applications for the Masonic Merit Scholarship are available. The application deadline is March 31.

Judge Ronald M Belt Community Scholarship
$500 scholarship awarded to a high school senior "who has demonstrated an interest in community involvement and service through work and through words". Applicants must complete an application and a one page essay entitled: "What Community Means to Me". Application is due by 3:00PM, 5/2/11 in the Counselor's office.

MACC Supt Scholarship

$300 for students enrolled in at least 9 credit hours at MACC the fall semester immediately following HS graduation and renewable for one semester. Students must have a 2.5 GPA. Please see me for more details. Deadline to inform me of your interest is 4/15/11

Atlanta Inter-Chur ch Council Scholarship

Applications for this scholarship, available to "a graduating senior who demonstrates Christian character" and is planning on continuing their education after high school, are now available. The completed applications need to be returned to the counselor's office by the end of school, Friday, May 6.
